TypeAdult Inpatients Acute
Inpatient care allows us to closely monitor our patients and ensure that they are receiving everything they need for their mental and physical wellbeing.
Kingfisher Ward is a 10 bedded mixed gender, treatment and recovery ward.
Kingfisher ward take transfers from Sandpiper, Avocet and Shearwater wards. On Kingfisher Ward service users continue their recovery journey. The focus of Kingfisher Ward is to continue working in a co-produced way so that the service user is actively involved in their care and care planning towards discharge. Throughout this journey the service user will regularly have their mental state and level of risk assessed. The occupational therapy service will actively engage with all the service users in a group format and an individual format as required due to their individual recovery needs. A service user may be referred for short term inpatient psychology or for a psychological assessment whilst on Kingfisher Ward. The ward also has links with the short term team and may complete a referral for the patient if they have issues such as accommodation or benefit issues.
