Forensic TeamWe work with people who present an active or high specific risk to others, due to their mental health problems or learning disability and, who may have had contact with the criminal justice system.
This multidisciplinary team offers nursing and medical support, provide psychological assessments of mental health needs and can help with social care needs and risk factors. Because so many different kinds of people use our service, we offer a wide range of specialist techniques and interventions.
Who is this service for? Adult patients who suffer from a mental disorder or learning disability that drives serious offending behaviour, placing others at serious risk. This may include homicide or attempted murder, wounding with intent, rape, attempted rape and sexual assaults, as well as fire setting (when reckless or with intent to endanger life).
How to access this service: For help and advice with the community forensic team (CFT) please visit your GP or community mental health team who will contact the CFT team on your behalf at our Newland House office.
