Here at NHFT, we know our staff are our biggest asset and we want to make sure we do all we can to support their wellbeing. As part of this, we are delighted to have signed up to Time to Change and put NHFT on the map as an organisation that supports employees to have conversations around mental health. We want to ensure, that our staff feel confident to speak up when they are struggling with their mental health, whether that be to a colleague, to their manager, a healthcare professional or via accessing the support services we have in place. As an organisation, we have pledged to:

“We aim to empower people to challenge stigma and speak openly about their own mental health experiences, as well as changing attitudes and behaviours towards those of us with mental health problems”

We are a living wage accreditated employer. The living wage commitment will see everyone working at NHFT, regardless of whether they are permanent employees or third-party contractors and suppliers; receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.45 - significantly higher than the national minimum wage of £3.40 - £6.95 for those who are 16 to 24 years and the National Living Wage, £7.20 for those who are 25 years and over. The living wage is a robust calculation that reflects the real cost of living, rewarding a hard day’s work with a fair day’s pay and shows the Trusts commitment to everyone who is part of team NHFT.
