Adult Services - Podiatic Surgery

Our Podiatric Surgery service is dedicated to the diagnosis and surgical treatment of problems affecting the foot and ankle. Our service provides day case surgery for a range of foot and ankle problems, we also offer non-surgical treatments, such as steroid injections.

Surgery can help with foot problems including:

Hallux valgus (bunions)
Hammer toes
Hallux limitus (arthritic toe)
Mid-foot problems that are getting worse
Tarsal tunnel
Metatarsal deformity (mis-shaped foot bones)
Heel pains
Ganglions (fluid-filled swelling) and Cysts (soft tissue lumps)
Toe nail problems

Our team

Our podiatric surgery service is a multi-disciplinary team including: consultant podiatric surgeons, training surgeons (such as registrars and trainees), staff podiatrists, operating department practitioners, nurses and health care assistants.

Podiatric surgeons first qualify as podiatrists, they take postgraduate surgical training, focused on the foot and ankle. Podiatric surgeons are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, with specialist registration in podiatric surgery.

Our team often speak to and work together with other health professionals to provide a comprehensive, patient-centred approach to care.
