What is iDiscover?
iDiscover is a learning and support platform providing accessible, resources, courses & workshops to children, young people (CYP), and families both online and in person. It enhances early intervention, improves health literacy, and bridges gaps in knowledge and access to services as and when needed.
Who can sign up and attend courses and workshops?
- Young people from all backgrounds and abilities (up to age 25) living in Northamptonshire.
- Young people that have accessed and continue to access NHFT services.
- Parents and carers or friends and family who support them.
- NHFT staff and professionals from other organisations that support young people and families.
Everyone joining iDiscover courses and workshops attend as a 'Peer', whatever your age because we are all equals when we learn together.
How can I find out more details about what happens in a course or workshop?
Where possible we will send out a one-page profile of the course or workshop trainers, so you can recognise them. After signing up to a course or workshop, all information would be provided in a welcome pack by email nearer the time
We are here to help and we will give you as much information as we can before you sign up for any course or workshop, such as:
- Where you will be and the facilities available
- What to expect from the course or workshop
- Who will be leading the course or workshop so that you can recognise them
- How you can travel to the course or workshop
Be sure to tell us if there is anything else that would be helpful for you.
When and where do the courses and workshops take place?
We offer online and in-person courses and workshops. You will find details about the course or workshop, and where and when it is taking place on our online booking pages. All of our courses and workshops take place at safe NHS or partner venues, for example, Northampton, Corby, Wellingborough, Kettering and Towcester. What happens after I have enrolled for a course or workshop?
You will receive a confirmation email if you booked onto a course or workshop. Please also check your spam/junk folder. You will also receive a reminder of the course or workshop closer to start date along with a welcome pack. How do I book on to a course or workshop?
All courses and workshops will be advertised on our iDiscover webpage on nhft.nhs.uk/idiscover. To book onto our courses and workshops, please refer to our Courses and Workshops page.
Do I have to come in person to a course or workshop?
Some courses and workshops are held online, and some are held in person. In iDiscover, we alternate our courses and workshop's location, so that local people can access these within their community.
Can I bring a friend?
Definitely! Just ask them to book themselves on to the same course or workshop so we know they will be attending with you.
Can you help me with reasonable adjustments and my individual needs?

Is iDiscover free to attend or use?
Yes! iDiscover is free for everybody to access.
What if I am nervous to come along to the group?

Are the venues accessible?
We try to ensure that all iDiscover face-fo-face courses and workshops are held in accessible venues. This includes lifts where needed, accessible toilets, parking or drop off point nearby. If you have specific needs, please let us know in advance, we are happy to answer any questions. If you find that a venue does not meet your specific needs, please contact the iDiscover team to help you book onto a iDiscover session in an accessible venue.
