Health Youth Justice ServiceThe Health Youth Justice Service supports young people's wellbeing, physical health and speech, language and communication needs. We work with the Northamptonshire Youth Justice Service, Northamptonshire Police and other NHFT services.
Our aim is to support you while you are accessing the Youth Justice Service and to help reduce your risk of re-offending.
We offer health assessments, health action plans, one-to-one sessions, consultations and a range of interventions, which you can read more about on this page.
During your time with us, we will talk with you about your health, wellbeing, and communication needs. Together, we will agree on any support that may be helpful and discuss how we can work with you. If we feel another service could better meet your needs, we will talk this through with you and help you understand your options.
Who is this service for? We work with young people aged 10 to 18 years who are open to the Northamptonshire Youth Justice Service. You can choose whether to access our support.

Following your screening, we can provide tailored advice, help you understand your health needs, and support you with the next steps in your care.

Health assessment
We will offer you a health screening with one of our clinicians. This this will give you the opportunity to think about any physical health, mental health or speech, language and communication needs that you might have. We can then give advice to support your general health, discuss any health concerns or support your next steps.
Health action plan
After your screening discussion and checking your health record we will make a plan, with you, for anything we think may help you to be healthier.
1-to-1 assessment
We will agree with you any support that may be helpful and talk about how we will support you with this. We will also discuss with you if we think another service can help with your needs.
Consultations and advice
With your consent we will discuss your needs with the Youth Justice Service or police and offer them advice on how to best support you while you were working with them.
