Welcoming our newly elected Governors at NHFT
We are pleased to welcome a new group of Governors to Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), following our recent elections.
Five new Governors have joined the Council, alongside three who have been re-elected, strengthening how we represent and engage with communities across Northamptonshire.
Joining the Council of Governors for the first time are:
- Ronnie Hall (Patient and Carer Governor)
- Prince Caesar and Peter Woolliscroft (Public Governors for Kettering and Corby)
- Charity Nkosi, Public Governor (Wellingborough and East Northants)
- Tina Welford (Public Governor for Northampton)
They are joined by re-elected Governors Ranjit Singh (Wellingborough and East Northants), Monica Maparanyanga (Kettering and Corby) and Pat Marshall (Patient and Carer), bringing continuity alongside fresh perspectives. Together, this group represents communities across Northamptonshire ensuring that local voices continue to shape the future of services delivered by NHFT.
Our Governors bring with them a wide range of experience and insight. This includes leadership within place-based partnerships, involvement in local Health and Wellbeing Boards, decades of experience in the NHS and social care, clinical and regulatory expertise, as well as strong connections to voluntary and community organisations. Importantly, many also bring lived experience as patients and carers.
To support them as they begin their term, new and returning Governors recently took part in an induction session, alongside some existing Governors. The session provided an introduction to the Trust, the wider NHS, and the responsibilities of the role, as well as an opportunity to begin building relationships with fellow Governors and senior colleagues.
Tracey Davies from the Corporate Governance Team said:
"It's fantastic to welcome such a strong and diverse group of Governors. They bring a real breadth of experience and a shared commitment to representing their communities. Induction is an important first step in helping them feel confident in their role and understanding how they can make a meaningful difference at NHFT"
Looking ahead, the Council of Governors will continue to focus on key priorities determined by comparing our membership with the local population. These priorities included increasing engagement with children and young people, improving inclusion of men of all ages, and ensuring our membership reflects the diversity of the local population across Northamptonshire.
The newly formed Council came together for its first formal meeting in June, marking the start of their work together.
