Expanding our community mental health services teams

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) is working with service users, colleagues and key partners to transform and expand community mental health services in the county.

The community mental health transformation is underway, with nine new teams made up of a range of colleagues providing different services in place.

These teams work with primary care networks (PCN) and two locality teams, who provide more specialist care, to offer mental health service at a local-level. This means that people across the county have access to mental health support within their community within one of the nine new teams.

In order to provide improved access to community mental health services, it is essential that NHFT expands its teams and recruits new colleagues to support the expansion of service delivery. The initial recruitment drive has been carried out from January – July 2021 with 60 new colleagues joining us at the start of the year and a further 28 joining this summer.

These new colleagues are now embedding into their roles and are working with service users every day to make a difference. To ensure that services continue to meet the needs of our communities, NHFT is bringing forward roles planned for next year to recruit more peer support workers and registered mental health nurses.

This is an exciting time to join an outstanding NHS Trust. Click here to find out more about the roles available and take the first step in your new career today.
