NHFT publishes 2026-2030 Medium Term Plan
Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) has published its Medium-Term Plan for 2026-2030 - a new way of planning across the NHS that supports healthcare providers to create more space to improve care.
The introduction of medium-term plans is a move away from yearly planning requirements for NHS providers and gives more scope for locally-led ambition to drive the change that communities want to see. Our plan describes what we will focus on and the actions that we will take from 2026 to 2030 to help us reach our vision - 'Together we thrive; building compassionate care and wellbeing for all'.
We've called our plan 'Supporting Our Communities' to reflect this commitment.
What does the plan include?
The NHFT Medium-Term Plan is structured into three parts. Part one introduces the plan theme in the context of our five-year Thrive Strategy. It also explains how we work with our communities, partnerships and collaboratives to shape the future of local care.
Part two covers our operational plans for 2026-30, including what each of our four care delivery pathways does, what it plans to deliver and what it will focus on during the plan period.
Part three focuses on the enabling teams that support the delivery of our care. It details how they will help us deliver high quality, safe and compassionate care efficiently and effectively.

Introducing the Medium-Term Plan, Chief Executive Angela Hillery says:
"Our commitment to supporting our communities is closely aligned with the ambitions of the government's 10 Year Health Plan for England.
"While demand for our services remains high and the environment in which we are working continues to be challenging, the Trust remains committed to maintaining our collective focus on quality and safety, improving access to our services and adding social value for all ages and communities.
"Our vision of where we want to be in 2030 is: 'Together we thrive; building compassionate care and wellbeing for all'. This emphasises our focus on being inclusive of all, working together, with a continuous emphasis on compassion in our services and for our people. To help us achieve our vision, we have a mission which drives us every day: 'Making a difference, together'."
