A successful end to 2019 with multiple award wins for TeamNHFT
Rounding off a hugely successful year for TeamNHFT we also had some brilliant awards news for teams across the Trust in November and December:
- Following on from our wins at the HSJ and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development awards, NHFT was also recognised for its work in staff engagement at the International Engage Awards. Our Let’s Talk plan, and the various workstreams within it including work on staff wellbeing, diversity and freedom to speak up won the Best Customer and Employee Engagement Programme. A fantastic achievement which means we can now say that NHFT has been recognised not only nationally, but internationally, for our work in this area
- Our new patient and public involvement strategy won the Innovation category at the NHS Providers’ Membership Showcase Awards. The judges were impressed with our innovative approach of bringing Involvement, Membership and Volunteering together with Governors to produce an aligned strategy that was also co-produced with input from our members, involvees and volunteers themselves
- The Allotment project – also known as Up the Field – won the Weetabix Local Food Hero of the Year award at the Northamptonshire Food and Drink awards. Again, the allotment is a co-produced initiative that both staff and service users from PCART North have worked hard to launch, fund and maintain. The allotment project has grown from a small plot growing a few vegetables to a plot four times the size with polytunnels for year round growing of fruit, vegetables and flowers. The allotment offers a space for current and former service users, staff and carers to gather, socialise, undertake activity and develop new skills.
