Celebrating Co-production Week 2025

This week is Co-production Week 2025, a national campaign that highlights the value of working in equal partnership with people who use health and care services. Across the country, organisations are showcasing how co-production helps to design and deliver better, more responsive care for their local communities.
At NHFT, co-production is central to how we work. We believe that people with lived experience bring new insight, and that services are stronger when they are shaped together.
Helping children and young people feel more comfortable with one-page profiles
One example of co-production in action at NHFT is the development of 'one-page profiles' for children and young people accessing our services.
These profiles have been co-produced with young people and are available on our website under individual service pages such as Children's Therapy Services - Occupational Therapy . They include:
· A photo of the staff member
· Their role and what they do
· What people like about them
· What's important to them
· What they enjoy doing in their spare time
For a child or young person, attending an appointment in an unfamiliar place with someone they've never met can be daunting. These profiles help to reduce anxiety by offering a friendly face and a sense of familiarity before the appointment begins.
By involving young people in the creation of these profiles, we're not only improving their experience, we're showing them that their voices matter.
What co-production means at NHFT
In this video, some of our staff share their thoughts on co-production means to them.
Co-production helps us deliver more compassionate, inclusive, and effective services. We want to hear your experiences of our services, when we hear good feedback about our people and teams, we let them know and this keeps them motivated to continue delivering quality care.
When feedback is not so positive, it is important to feed this back to our teams so that we can look at where we need to improve to provide better outcomes in future.
