After a hard 18 months, we’ve all got someone to say thank you to. Whether it’s our family, friends or work colleagues for keeping us going, to the neighbours for checking we were okay, the delivery drivers who kept food on the shelves, the volunteers who helped get the vaccine out, or the kids for learning from home – we want to get together to say thanks to them all. 

Colleagues, volunteers and patients at the Welland Centre, based at St Mary’s Hospital in Kettering, celebrated the official opening of a new workshop shed.

National changes to community mental health services are being implemented which impact how these services are provided in England.

NHFT healthcare colleagues working in Cambridgeshire’s secured services are actively encouraging residents who have misused drugs and alcohol, and are successfully recovered, to become Recovery Champions - a peer mentor role, designed to help and support fellow residents with substance misuse issues.

This week, we’re celebrating the difference our colleagues and service users, carers and parents make to develop and improve our services by working together to listen to and respond to their experiences.

Nature is the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week (10-16 May).

During the long months of the pandemic, millions of us turned to nature. Research shows that going for walks outside and being in green spaces was one of the top coping strategies and vital for our mental health.

On International Nurses' Day 2021, we are celebrating the achievements of our nurses and allied health professionals, including our Chief Nurse Julie Shepherd, who was awarded the Chief Nursing Officer's GOLD award. 

Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) and Northampton Town Football Club Community Trust (NTFCCT) have teamed up this Mental Health Awareness Week (10 - 16 May) to raise of mental health difficulties and encourage conversations about mental health in order to break down barriers and stigma.
