A tribute to Alison England

Alison England, a much loved team member at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT), has sadly passed away after contracting COVID-19.

Alison was a domestic assistant at NHFT since 2012. Working in Cynthia Spencer Hospice as part of the hotel services team, Alison’s duties included cleaning as well as serving meals to patients. Alison was known for her smiling cheery manner, chatting with patients and bringing brightness into their days.

Angela Hillery, Chief Executive, said: “We are devastated at the loss of Alison and our hearts go out to her husband Ray and all her loved ones at this difficult time.

“We know that simple acts of kindness and compassion can make a real difference to our patients, especially in a hospice. Alison epitomised this with her sunny disposition and dedication.

“We will never forget Alison and she will always be part of teamNHFT.”

Alison’s husband Ray, said: “I would just like to say thanks because my Alison thought a lot of the place and I have never seen her so happy when she started working there, she always came home and told me what she had done and what everyone else got up to. When she was telling me her face was lit up and smiling. So for that I would like to thank everyone for making her a part of the team and a part of a family there and also would like to thank everyone for the kind words and wishes. Keep up the good work.”
