Dr. Krishna Yathiraj, Consultant Psychiatrist at Berrywood Hospital, has received a top accolade at this year’s annual awards ceremony. The carers awards aims to say ‘thank you’ to all Carers and Young Carers across the county, especially in such a difficult year but they also highlight some amazing achievements worthy of praise.

This year’s event took place virtually for the first time on 24 September, and celebrated nine awards categories for carers and young carers, including the Shining Star award. This is for professionals or volunteers who go above and beyond in their role to support Carers and this year’s award went to Dr Yathiraj.

Dr. Krishna Yathiraj received many nominations from patients and their relatives alike praising his care and support for carers. Comments included "He has literally saved the breakdown of my family" and "Went an extra mile to support us during the difficult time".

Dr Yathiraj , said: “I am delighted to have been recognised by the Northamptonshire Carers Awards, even more so to have received this fantastic award.

“At NHFT, we are dedicated to providing outstanding and compassionate care and to have been nominated by our patients and service users is a real honour. I would like to congratulate all of the winners and nominees, and thank Northamptonshire Carers for organising the annual ceremony, and all of the work they carry out every day.”
