Helping young people thrive and making care easier to access
This September, local people will have the opportunity to hear more about the latest developments in local healthcare at NHFT's Annual Public and Members' Meeting (APMM), taking place on Monday 21 September 2026 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
The event is open to everyone, including patients, carers, members of the public, partners and NHS colleagues.
Hear how support for young people is changing
One of the highlights of this year's meeting will be a presentation on Thriving in Life, a new health and wellbeing service for 11-19-year-olds in North Northamptonshire.
The service has been developed to help young people access support at the right time, promoting wellbeing and helping them build resilience for the future.
Attendees will hear directly from the team behind the service about how it is making a difference for young people and families across the area.
Discover how technology is helping people access care
The meeting will also showcase NHFT's innovative Physio Symptom Checker, presented by James Bell, Professional Lead for MSK Physiotherapy.
The online tool helps people with musculoskeletal concerns access advice and guidance quickly, supporting self-management and helping them find the most appropriate route to further support if needed.
It's one example of how technology is being used to improve people's experience of healthcare and make services easier to access.
Looking back and looking ahead
Alongside these case studies, attendees will hear from NHFT's Chief Executive, Angela Hillery, who will reflect on the Trust's achievements over the past year and outline future priorities through the Trust's THRIVE strategy.
The meeting will also include:
-
An introduction from Interim Chair, Faisal Hussain
-
A Council of Governors video showcasing how governors have delivered on their pledges
-
Presentation of NHFT's Annual Report and Accounts for 2025/26
-
A live question and answer session with Trust leaders
-
An opportunity to learn more about the services and support available across NHFT
-
Your chance to ask questions
The Annual Public and Members' Meeting is one of the Trust's most important public events of the year.
As well as hearing about NHFT's work, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the challenges, achievements and future direction of local NHS services.
