We are thrilled to announce that Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) has been shortlisted for a global Inclusive Workplace Award.

The Inclusive Workplace category is part of the annual Global Equality and Diversity Awards which recognise worldwide, organisations that have a transparent approach towards equality and diversity and use research to make meaningful change within this area.

The category we have been shortlisted for highlights our continuous commitment to drive forward equality and inclusion and how by doing so, we have seen organisational improvement in our data, as well as our culture.

Chris Oakes, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development said: “For the Trust to be shortlisted for this award is a fantastic achievement and one that we are extremely proud of. This reflects the hard work of the whole team that is NHFT. Diversity and inclusion is something that we value within the Trust and which we believe allows us to deliver high quality care to our patients and service users.

“Our team are our biggest asset and enable us to drive forward culture change and make a huge difference to our staff and their workplace experience.  it is important they feel positive towards coming in to work and to see the positive difference we have made.

“As a Trust we are committed to continuous improvement, therefore equality and inclusion remains a priority focus for us, however being shortlisted for this award is a great recognition of the difference we have made so far.”

It has been a fantastic couple of months for the Trust with the news of being rated ’Outstanding’ by the CQC in August, as well as being shortlisted for the HSJ Provider Trust of the Year 2018 and the HSJ Patient Safety 2018 award – both events happening in November 2018.

The winner of each category will be announced at the Global Equality and Diversity Conference on Thursday 22 November. We are keeping our fingers crossed for team NHFT and will update you all with the outcome post the event.
