NHFT Gains Investing in Volunteers Accreditation

Volunteers are an integral part of Team NHFT, we greatly value their contribution and appreciate the time they give to enhance and complement the care provided by paid staff.

Volunteers help in many different ways in our hospitals and services, through a variety of roles including befriending on the wards, supporting occupational therapists, psychologists and clerical staff, as well as volunteering in roles such as gardening and as shop assistants.

Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management. Achieving the standard is a demonstration of how much volunteers are valued, and gives them confidence in our ability to provide an outstanding volunteer experience.

We are delighted to have been awarded the Investing in Volunteers accreditation, which is valid for three years.
