NHFT Apprentice Featured in Times Educational Supplement (TES)

It was great to see NHFT apprentice, Courtney Major, featured in the Times Educational Supplement this week. The article predominately focuses on the need to spread the word about the fantastic apprenticeship opportunities available in the health and care sector. Courtney is currently 13 months into an 18 months business administration apprenticeship in the transformation and programme management office (PMO) at St Mary’s Hospital.

The article explains how Courtney didn’t have a clear direction of which career path she wanted to take whilst in school, but knew someone who had recently undertaken an apprenticeship with NHFT and thoroughly enjoyed it. Following on from application to interview, to settling into her new role she’s found out how diverse the role is and how she quickly quashed those typical apprenticeship myths that float around in your last years at school pretty much as soon as she started her role.

Support, is key… Courtney’s role and team provide her with massive scope for development and a wide-range of experience, with an extremely supportive manager who allows Courtney to flourish and follow her personal career aspirations. Courtney has now secured a substantive position within our Programme Management Office as our PMO Project Assistant.
