Beverley Brown, April Jackson, Chrissie Long, Nicolle Goode and Emma Patten

"We are so proud! It's all about being passionate about we do and working together as a team."

For the Talking Therapies Employment Advisors team, winning 'Non-clinical Team of the Year' at our Quality Awards is more than a fantastic achievement - it's a powerful motivator as they continue their commitment to deliver high- quality and person-centred support for patients.

Making a difference to mental health recovery with employment support

Over the past year alone, the Talking Therapies Employment Advisors have supported thousands of people across Northamptonshire. Working alongside therapists, the team plays a crucial role in holistic care, by supporting people to find, remain or return to meaningful employment. They empower individuals to overcome barriers, regain confidence, and pursue meaningful work - improving self-esteem, reducing isolation and promoting long-term wellbeing.

Watch this video to hear from Beverley Brown, Senior Employment Advisor, and find out more about how the team supports mental health recovery:

Whether it's supporting with CV writing, interview preparation or employer engagement, the team goes above and beyond to provide excellent patient support by working collaboratively and ensuring inclusive and accessible support for all.

Going that extra mile to meaningfully support patients, the team have recently researched and compiled an extensive resource library to further enhance the support they offer.

Beverley said:

"We've put ourselves in the shoes of our patients and have come together collectively as a group to work out what the barriers in the world of work are. As a result, we've come up a special resource library we can delve into and share with patients to help them on their journey to recovery.

"Supporting a patient's mental health recovery, we see ourselves as an important part of the jigsaw that will help a patient move forward in their workplace and with their work goals."

What do patients say about the service?

The impact of the team's work is evident in the words of those they support:

"Your patience, professionalism and encouragement each week had a profound effect on me. You have helped me believe in myself and my abilities. I feel I have rebuilt myself and with your support I am now preparing for interviews."

"You have gone above and beyond to help me and this has made a huge difference to my recovery and my outlook."

"I have had the best experience with using this service and it has really helped me to overcome my original trauma and support me with my ongoing anxiety and how to deal with this. I felt I mattered and I'm so very thankful."

"I have actively worked out a way to move forward. Your guidance and the information you have provided have been extremely helpful and I feel supported and equipped enough to continue this journey moving forward following discharge. I am very excited for the future."

The 'Non-clinical Team of the Year' award recognises a team that demonstrates quality, safety and compassion in the care they provide. The Talking Therapies Employment Advisors Team are truly deserving winners, they are a shining example of how teamwork, dedication and person-centred practice can lead to lasting outcomes for patients.

Beverley shared:

"When we heard that we had won, we were over the moon because it meant such a lot to myself and the team. The fact that we've been recognised and rewarded means the world to us. We're excited to take all that positive energy into 2026.

This year we have got lots of objectives to take forward, we want to make sure we continue to deliver a first-class service to our patients - that's what it's all about."
