Meet the Governor!
Pete Spink is public governor for NHFT, representing the Northampton constituency. He is also the chief executive of Space to Talk, a local mental health charity that organises walks and recreational activities, connections to peer support and access to mental health resources.
We spoke to Pete about the rewards of being a governor and how we can make a difference, together at NHFT by being responsive in changing times.
What inspired you to become an NHFT governor?
"I really wanted to make a difference for the community here in Northamptonshire. I moved here in 2000 and since I've been here, I've been really made welcome."
What are the rewards of being an NHFT governor?
"You can make so much difference to local people in such a short time. I love it because it gives me an opportunity to meet people that may need some support and give them that opportunity to get right to where that support is. I find it really rewarding."

Why is being responsive so important for us at NHFT?
"I think it's very important for us to keep up with changes and make sure we address the ever-changing platforms. Within our Trust we see so many different people and different communities coming in and using our services. We have to adapt and adapt quickly to make sure people are looked after."
