Being responsive to the needs of our communities
NHFT is committed to ensuring all our patients and service users receive safe, high-quality care and are treated with respect and dignity at all times. To achieve this, it's important to recognise that everyone has different needs and preferences.
Being responsive is one of the six priorities of our Trust's THRIVE strategy, and this means working towards providing care that is responsive to our communities and the differing needs of service users. By doing this we can ensure more people have access
to the right care in the right place, when they need it.
We encourage those we care for to ask questions, make complaints if things haven't gone well, share their concerns and tell us when we have done something well. It is also important that we provide opportunities for patients and service users - as well as
their families and carers - to be involved in the decisions affecting their care.
Doing this helps us to ensure our services are centred around the needs of our patients. It also helps us to improve the quality of our care, people's access to our care and their outcomes and experiences. Over the next five years we aim to be:
- Responsive to the changing needs, demands and expectations of the public for services
- Providing services that can adapt to the needs of different people and communities
- Working in partnership to deliver local services which are informed by local needs and are patient-centred
As a responsive organisation, we are taking steps to put ourselves at the forefront of care, making the best use of innovative technologies, taking part in more clinical trials and research for new treatments, and redesigning our services with a clear focus on
patient outcomes and experience.
