Inpatient care allows us to closely monitor our patients and ensure that they are receiving everything they need for their mental and physical wellbeing. Cove Ward is a male admission and treatment ward.

Cove Ward is a male admission and recovery ward with 17 beds at Berrywood Hospital in Northampton.

All our wards provide a modern, needs-led, trauma-informed acute mental health service where we aim to treat service users with dignity and respect in an environment that is appropriate, safe and supportive for service users, staff and visitors.

Through a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency approach, we provide a range of services that are suitable for people's individual needs. Staff work together with service users in a non-discriminatory way that accepts and is framed around the service user's understanding of their own issues. This involves recognising the service user's culture, life experience, protected characteristics and strengths to support their recovery.

Each service user will take part in a multi-disciplinary team assessment of their needs and safety which will inform their treatment and care during their admission.

Car parking

There is 90-minute free onsite car parking at Berrywood Hospital. If you are going to be at Berrywood longer than 90 minutes, please enter your registration details in the screen by the reception desks to extend your free parking time.

Please do not block any entrances or park on the grass verges.

Smoking and vaping information

We know that quitting smoking reduces your chances of heart disease and lung cancer, as well as improving your sense of taste, making your skin look younger and reducing stress.

Please remember that smoking or vaping is not allowed anywhere on any NHFT sites for outpatients, visitors or staff.

For adult and older adult inpatients only, smoking or vaping is allowed in specially designated areas (ward gardens). If you are an inpatient, please speak to your Ward Matron about smoking and vaping options. Tobacco dependency advisors are available to support you to quit smoking or vaping, and we also offer nicotine replacement therapy.

All other service users, visitors and staff must go offsite if they wish to smoke or vape.
