Including everyone in our care

At NHFT, we're proud to serve diverse communities across Northamptonshire and beyond. Through co-production with our patients, service users, carers and families and colleagues, we are making a difference in our communities while continuing to learn about what is important.

It's vital for us to be able to understand what matters most for the people who use and work in our services. We will achieve and understand more as we continue to connect with our diverse communities and get feedback on how best we can deliver our services to meet their different needs. This is why we use our patient, service-user and carer feedback to make informed decisions about how to improve our services: we listen, actively hear and take responsibility for the actions that are needed.

We involve people who use our health and care services, carers and communities and create valued partnerships, ensuring this involvement happens at the earliest stages of service design, development and evaluation. We work to break down barriers between service users and our colleagues and create an environment where everyone is working together towards a shared goal. By 2030 we aim to:

  1. Have a culture of inclusivity where everyone's voice is heard and matters
  2. Have increased research involving all our communities, creating a centre of excellence for mental and physical healthcare
  3. Work with colleagues, patients, service users, carers and families through co-production to design, deliver and evaluate services to improve the quality of care we deliver

Ensuring that people are involved through co-production can define what matters most in the quality of experience of our services and improving the quality of our services.
