Help us to recognise outstanding care

Every day across NHFT services our colleagues make a difference to the lives of patients, carers and families. Sometimes it's through expert care and support. Sometimes it's the extra time taken to listen. And sometimes it's the small acts of kindness that mean the most during difficult moments.

We're inviting you to help us recognise those people - our teams and staff who have made a real difference to your care or the care of someone you love - by submitting a nomination for the NHFT Patient and Carer Choice Award.

The award is part of our annual team awards, the THRIVE Awards, and gives our service users, patients, carers and families the opportunity to say thank you to a member of staff or a team who has provided outstanding care or support.

The 2026 THRIVE Awards winners are due to be announced in November but our Patient and Carer Choice Award is always open, so you can make a nomination any time.

Celebrating our colleagues and our communities

Recognising and celebrating the diversity of our communities and our colleagues is important to us at NHFT - and just one of the ways we do that is by acknowledging and raising awareness of shared events and activities.

From religious festivals to national and international events highlighting health conditions and celebrations of the professions that make up our workforce, we understand the importance of supporting our people to feel seen and appreciated.

To take a snapshot of events from September, we have marked World Suicide Prevention Day, World Sepsis Day, Sexual Health Week and Major Trauma Week, alongside Jewish festivals Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Then in October we will recognise Freedom to Speak Up Month, Stoptober, Black History Month, Baby Loss Awareness Week, World Mental Health Day and Specialist and Associate Specialist Doctors Week, among others.

We continue to thank and celebrate our colleagues and our communities - and recognise the difference we make together - in our daily activities throughout the year.
