Baby Loss Awareness Week 2021

This year, Baby Loss Awareness week 2021 runs from Saturday 9 - Friday 15 October.

The week aims to raise awareness of how pregnancy and baby loss affects thousands of families each year across the UK, as well as providing an opportunity for bereaved families to unite and commemorate their babies’ lives - no matter when they experienced their loss.

This tragedy affects 1 in 4 pregnancies in the UK. Stigma and silence often mean families feel isolated in their grief.

While restrictions have eased throughout 2021, the impact and pressures of the pandemic have still been very much felt by families and healthcare professionals alike. That’s why this year’s theme, wellbeing, remains vitally important – looking after yourself and those around you in order to process grief, loss and other challenges.

This week will be difficult for many families but remember there are organisations out there to support you, in whatever you need.

NHFT’s Maternal Mental Health Service is raising awareness of the services it provides to people across the county who are affected by baby loss. Click here to find out more and join the events.

There is support waiting to work with you if you’ve been affected by Baby Loss. You can contact the 24-hour mental health number if you’re experiencing a crisis on 0800 448 0828.

Support can be found at:
