What we're doing to manage violence and aggression towards teamNHFT

Everyone's safety is an absolute priority for NHFT: patients and service users, families and carers, and also our colleagues and teams. A key part of this includes reducing incidents of violence and aggression against our workers. We want our teams to go home safely at the end of every shift.

It's not okay to attack or abuse NHS workers who are doing their jobs. Because of this, we have partnered with Northamptonshire Police on Operation Cavell - a multi-agency approach to reducing these incidents against emergency workers. Emergency workers include anyone who works for the NHS.

Operation Cavell provides dedicated police resource to manage incidents of violence and aggression against our workers. The aim is that by providing this dedicated resource, more perpetrators are charged and prosecuted, and ultimately fewer incidents will occur. This in turn will make our hospitals and services safer for everyone.
