New for 2022, the Corporate Governance team has launched a Membership Events Programme with a series of engaging virtual webinars on topics chosen by the members themselves. The first of these free events is a Dementia webinar on May 17th. We are excited to welcome Jenny Kerti, the Younger People with Dementia (YPWD) manager for NHFT.

This NHFT service aims to support people who may be worried about their memory or cognitive functioning. The service offers specialist assessments, care planning, treatment, and support for adults under 65 with dementia. The team can provide timely diagnoses and help minimise the experience of impairment and disability to help patients live well with dementia. As a local service the team has access to local community resources which allow them to enhance the social inclusion and individual support networks of its patients. The YPWD service recognises a dementia diagnosis for adults under 65 has a huge impact across the family. Therefore, the YPWD team offer amazing support to the families and carers, of younger adults with dementia, to promote their wellbeing needs as well.

Jenny Kerti will be leading our dementia webinar at 2 pm on May 17th as part of our programme of events for NHFT members. There will be a chance to ask questions at the webinar. We will also be joined by an NHFT governor to welcome attendees before Jenny Kerti begins her talk. Questions can be pre-submitted, or please feel free to use the ‘raise your hand’ function in teams on the day. Please register for the meeting link by emailing: foundationtrust@nhft.nhs.uk
