Accessing personal information

The Data Protection Act 1998 also allows you to find out what information about you is held on computer and in certain manual records. This is known as “right of subject access”.

You may be entitled to receive a copy of the information you request but should note that a charge will usually be made. You should also be aware that in certain circumstances your right to see some details in your health records may be limited in your own interest or for other reasons.

Patient Led Record Sharing

In Northamptonshire, most GPs and NHS community services provided by the Trust use a secure computer system called SystmOne for your medical record.

For those services that use SystmOne, we will be changing the way in which we manage your secure medical records from 29 October 2013.  YOU will be able to decide which NHS services can view your record.  To find out more, click on the link below.
